Terms of use

1. The service and who operates it

KnowledgeNuggets lets readers browse educational articles and related pages, and lets registered authors draft, illustrate, and offer work for publication.

References to “KnowledgeNuggets”, “we”, “us”, or “the platform” mean the website at knowledgenuggets.in, the writing desk, and the people and entities that operate them, including the proprietor, operators, administrators, moderators, contractors, and successors.

These terms do not create a partnership, employment, joint-venture, or agency relationship between you and KnowledgeNuggets.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your place of residence, or have a parent or guardian accept these terms on your behalf.

You are responsible for the accuracy of account details, for keeping login credentials secret, and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe the account has been misused.

We may refuse, suspend, or close an account where we reasonably believe these terms, the law, or the safety of readers has been breached.

3. Articles, photographs, and other submissions

You keep whatever copyright you already have in text, photographs, diagrams, video, audio, captions, and profile details you submit (“your material”). KnowledgeNuggets does not claim ownership of your material.

By submitting material you grant KnowledgeNuggets a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for layout (including cropping photographs to the site’s article frame), display, index, and distribute that material on the service and in reasonable promotional excerpts, for as long as the material remains on the platform or as needed for backups, security, and legal compliance.

You represent that you created the material, or that you have all licences, releases, and permissions needed to publish it here — including rights in photographs, artwork, trademarks, quotations, and the likeness of any identifiable person.

You are solely responsible for your material. KnowledgeNuggets, its proprietor, operators, moderators, and affiliates do not undertake to fact-check, legally review, or insure articles or images before they appear.

4. Hosting only — no responsibility for user content

KnowledgeNuggets is a host and technical venue. Publication of an article, profile, or image does not mean we endorse it, verify it, or accept editorial responsibility for it.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, KnowledgeNuggets, its proprietor, operators, directors, employees, contractors, and affiliates are not responsible for:

the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any article;

photographs, videos, diagrams, or other files uploaded by users, including alleged copyright or publicity-right infringement;

opinions, advice, or claims made by authors;

links to third-party sites;

loss or corruption of drafts, files, or published pages;

decisions you make after reading material on the site.

Disputes about an article or image are primarily between the author and the complaining party. We may, but are not obliged to, remove or unpublish material, disable accounts, or provide information where the law requires it.

5. Moderation and removal

Authors typically save drafts. A moderator or administrator may publish, unpublish, edit metadata, or refuse material. We have no duty to publish anything.

We may remove or restrict material that appears unlawful, infringing, harmful, misleading, or otherwise unsuitable, or that we are asked to take down by a rights-holder or authority. We are not required to give reasons or prior notice where it would be impractical or legally unwise.

6. What you must not do

You must not submit illegal material; material that infringes copyright or other rights; material that exploits children; malware; or content that impersonates another person or organisation.

You must not attack, scrape, or overload the service, attempt to access other accounts, or use the writing desk to send spam.

Educational discussion is welcome. The site is not a place to harass people or to post defamatory or unlawfully obscene material.

7. Our names, software, and design

The KnowledgeNuggets name, logos, site design, software, and documentation belong to the platform’s proprietor or its licensors. Using the service does not give you any ownership in those assets.

You may not suggest that KnowledgeNuggets wrote, verified, or stands behind your article unless we have agreed to that in writing.

8. Availability and changes

The service is provided as-is and as-available. We do not warrant uninterrupted access, error-free software, or permanent storage.

We may change features, moderate more strictly, or stop offering the writing desk or the public site. We may update these terms by posting a new version. Continued use after an update is acceptance of the new terms.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, KnowledgeNuggets and its proprietor disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

Articles may be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Images may be mislabelled. Nothing on the site is professional advice in medicine, law, engineering, finance, or any other licensed field.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KnowledgeNuggets, its proprietor, operators, officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or opportunity, arising from the site, an article, an image, an account, or inability to use the service — whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, even if advised of the possibility.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) one thousand Indian rupees. If you use the service without paying us, that amount is the cap.

Some places do not allow certain exclusions. In those places, our liability is limited to the minimum the law allows.

11. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify KnowledgeNuggets, its proprietor, operators, moderators, and affiliates against claims, losses, damages, costs, and legal fees arising from your material, your use of the service, or your breach of these terms or of third-party rights — including copyright in photographs and text.

12. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in India have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may seek injunctive relief anywhere to protect the platform or readers.
